What is the thing you most want to see from/learn about your team in spring practice?
For Alabama, the thing I most want to see is what the offense looks like. What formations do we run, how organized do we look, what QBs and WRs are stepping up, etc.

Normally I wouldn't expect much with offensive looks but maybe DeBoer may feel like he needs to show something interesting for Bama fans in their first exposure to his offense. I'm honestly more interested in how the defense looks. Should be fun though. I hope there's a huge turnout.
Just thinking of what I'd expect fans of other teams:
LSU: How does Nuss look and is there any hope of improvement on defense. I tend to think LSU does really well this year -- better than most think
Georgia: Honestly not much new to expect. Same QB. Maybe get a good look at the future of QBs there and the running game.
Tennessee: I want to get a good look at their new QB though he might not play much.
If I can get away from work, I may take an extra couple of days and go down to Tuscaloosa and check it out. I haven't been to a spring game since 2011 .. I think that was the week or two before the tornado.

My big question: How does Milroe fit into this offense?
His biggest weakness last year, IMO, was the combination of how long it took him to go through his progressions & his indecisiveness. Neither of those things fit with what DeBoer does offensively. It took Milroe close to twice as long to release the ball from the time it was snapped than Washington’s average. Play calling & frequent poor snaps are partially to blame for that, for sure.
I’m also curious, if Milroe keeps his starting job, how many QBs we lose to the portal. It’s very possible that we are left with a 2 player QB room after the Spring portal closes.

It's been a few years since I've been to one, too, but I will probably head over to check this one out. I fully expect a massive crowd.theballguy wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 8:36 am If I can get away from work, I may take an extra couple of days and go down to Tuscaloosa and check it out. This is the first year in about 15 where I would pay someone to watch 10 minutes of practice footage from each practice purely from curiosity

If DeBoer runs any pre-shift motion and can get the ball to his players in space. Also a good D.DefinitelyNotTTMR wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 8:24 am For Alabama, the thing I most want to see is what the offense looks like. Anxious to see what Baker has been able to do with the defense. I think offensively LSU will reload and be fine, but will obviously lose a step when you lose a player like Jayden.

How is the front 7 looking? I know there was talk of moving DEs to DT - are you guys expecting to add some guys in the next portal window?MississippiTiger wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 10:48 am Anxious to see what Baker has been able to do with the defense. So many things with a whole new staff but in order:
1) Will the offensive line take any steps forward in terms of technique and intensity? One of Jimbo's biggest mistakes was relying on Steve Addazio the last few years after losing Josh Henson to Southern Cal. We had a lot of problems last year, but the most glaring by far was the inability to pass protect and our generally unproductive running game
2) Strenth and Conditioning - This tailed off massively the last few years. I hear good things about Tommy Moffitt so far.
3) Collin Klein's adjustments to the starting lineup and positioning. We still have plenty of 4 and 5 star talent but most of those guys have been running in circle's due to Jimbo's 800 page playbook. Hopefully things get simplified and we stop ramming square pegs into round holes position wise to satisfy a stubborn playcaller.

I love the kid. I really do. He has a great attitude and seems like a genuinely good person. But am I wrong to wish that he doesn't get the starting job this year?Tuscaloosa wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 9:03 am I’m also curious, if Milroe keeps his starting job, how many QBs we lose to the portal.
