A freshman killed himself in one of the bigger dorms Wednesday night and then the next morning a girl was murdered running at the intramural fields. Classes were canceled for yesterday and today.

It's been explained to me by family of folks who succumbed to suicide, that victims just "turn on themselves." That's from a wise man who I love dearly, speaking about his father who took his own life.
Who knows why.
It's anyone from introverted folks who have trouble fitting in, all the way to the other spectrum of super successful human All-Stars and/or very talented and outwardly happy popular kids who seem to have everything going for them.
I've seen examples of all of these unfortunately - not family, but people I either knew from a distance, or were really pretty close to. I don't know the accepted stats, but the stats I've experienced are that the people who actually follow through are male. Female's I've known have threatened it or supposedly toyed with actually committing the deed. I take that at least as being glad I have ZERO personal experience with any females who actually took their lives.
