I have nothing against Milroe and if he wins the job that's fine with me, but I will say that I hope very much that whoever takes the starting QB spot can consistently play at a higher level than what he did last year.theballguy wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 11:51 amI love the kid. I really do. He has a great attitude and seems like a genuinely good person. But am I wrong to wish that he doesn't get the starting job this year?Tuscaloosa wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 9:03 am I’m also curious, if Milroe keeps his starting job, how many QBs we lose to the portal. It’s very possible that we are left with a 2 player QB room after the Spring portal closes.
What is the thing you most want to see from/learn about your team in spring practice?

I want to see if we have any receivers that can get open and at least try to fight for the ball.

For Bama I think it’s the defensive side of the ball.
Not worried about offense under DeBoer.

I want to see Quinn take the next step and become the elite QB he was supposed to be as a recruit. He's been pretty solid, but not elite.

I know this is not going to happen as long as Willie Martinez is coaching our DBs.
Our DBs can run down the field stride for stride with any WR in the league. I would love to see them turn around and actually play for the ball, or at least bat it away to prevent a catch.
Our Martinez coached strategy seems to be hang with the WR, don't turn and look for the ball. Tackle the WR after the catch. Or actually catch a glimpse of the ball and get called for PI because you know you waited too late to make a play..
Our secondary is our weak link. Has been for a long time.
Just PLEASE turn and look for the ball.
